Vision / Visie

By Hoërskool Ferdinand Postma word daar gestreef om binne ʼn geborge mikro-omgewing elke leerder se potensiaal te ontsluit sodat hy/sy volwaardig mens kan word en wees, om sodoende sy/haar plek in die makro-omgewing van ʼn multi-kulturele Suid-Afrika vol te staan en ʼn daadwerklike verskil te maak.   Ons aktualiseer ons visie deur die onderstaande as ons missie te stel.

At Ferdinand Postma High School we strive to unlock each learner's potential within the micro-environment, in order to enable him/her to become and be a holistic developed individual, to eventually be able to stand firm in the macro-environment of a multi-cultural South Africa, and to make a noteworthy difference.  We actualise our vision by applying the mission noted below.

Mission / Missie

By Ferdinand Postma word:

 

  • onderlinge respek vir die kulturele diversiteit van ons samelewing gekweek en waardes voorgehou wat met ʼn menseregtekultuur geassosieer word;

  • in onderriggebeure gefokus op die opvoeding van leerders as diensbare en verantwoordelike jong Suid-Afrikaners;

  • maksimale betrokkenheid van alle belanghebbendes verwag;

  • beide onderwysers en leerders gemotiveer om lewenslange leerders te bly.

  • akademiese voortreflikheid as ononderhandelbaar geag;

  • ondersteuning gebied aan leerders wat op verskillende terreine leemtes ervaar;

  • alles moontlik gedoen om die skool ʼn suksesvolle onderwysinstelling te maak met ʼn deursigtige en demokratiese bestuurstyl en ʼn gesonde finansiële basis;

  • geleenthede geskep om leerders bloot te stel aan verrykende en verruimende loopbaanmoontlikhede.

At Ferdinand Postma:

 

  • underlying respect for cultural diversity in our community is nurtured and values associated with human rights are held;

  • during teaching activities the focus is on educating learners to become responsible and serving young South Africans;

  • maximum involvement of all participants is expected;

  • both teachers and learners are motivated to remain life-long learners;

  • academic achievement is considered non-negotiable;

  • support is provided to learners experiencing difficulties in various areas;

  • we do all things possible to ensure that the school remains a successful teaching institution, with a democratic and transparent managment style, and a healthy financial basis;

  • opportunities are created to provide learners the exposure into enriching and broadening career possibilities.
